TASK Project

The goal of the BMU-funded TASK project (duration 2017-mid 2019) was to develop adaptation strategies for dam operation in the light of shifting precipitation regimes and thus changing runoff conditions. The impact was assessed for both dam operations and water quality. Suitable indicators for adaptive reservoir operation for multipurpose and competing uses were identified and further developed to detect the need for action at an early stage. A guideline was developed in close collaboration with operators and regulatory authorities, within necessary individual site-specific solutions can be worked out for each reservoir or reservoir system.

The current TASK 2 project builds on the results of this predecessor project. Documents and presentations from TASK are made available here.
